McAdam states today in a Projo article that Youk didn't show up for yesterday's optional workout, but Shaughnessey quotes him as being there and commenting specifically on how many guys showed up:
"I'm not surprised to see so many guys," said Kevin Youkilis. "This is a good group. I think a lot of guys wanted to get a workout in and lift."
While Shaughnessey has his faults, hallucinating players and completely fabricating quotes have not historically been among them.
