PAWTUCKET -- David Ortiz is at McCoy Stadium for his second day of a rehabilitation stint.

He arrived at the ballpark a little after 3:30, did some work in the trainer's room, hit in the cage for about 10 minutes and then joined the PawSox for a round of batting practice.

Over the five rounds, Ortiz, who has been on the disabled list because of a partially torn tendon sheath in his left wrist suffered on May 31, took a total of 34 swings. The Red Sox' burly designated concentrated hitting the ball to left and left-center for the most part, but did pull a few as the rounds wore on.

Ortiz hit three balls out of the park.

He said he was feeling none the worse for wear after Thursday night's rehab debut, during which he clouted a line-drive homer.

"It feels good. It feels normal, no pain," said Ortiz after taking BP.

Then, after talking briefly with the media, he walked back into the clubhouse and went into the weight room for a little extra pregame work.

Check back later for updates on Ortiz's at-bats in tonight's game against Toledo. He is batting third and serving as the PawSox' designated hitter.
