Click the play button below to hear Sean's comments, recorded this morning. The topics: last night's disappointing conclusion to the Red Sox' road trip; hard-luck Jonathan Papelbon; Youkilis vs. Chamberlain; and the red-hot Minnesota Twins, who come to Fenway tonight.. Here are some excerpts from Sean's comments: On last night's loss: "It was sort of an encapsulation of everything that's gone wrong for them, and what looked like it had the chance to be a salvagable road trip on Friday, when the Red Sox won the first two and maybe were showing signs that they were capable of sweeping [the Yankees] and finishing the trip at .500, took a decidedly wrong turn ... as they lost the final two and ... went from going into Tampa a half-game out of first place to just five or six days later now being five full games out." Youkilis and Chamberlain: "No one's been able to find out exactly what it is about Kevin Youkilis that Joba Chamberlain dislikes so much, but clearly there's somethign there ... certainly something to keep an eye on when these two teams meet again." The Twins: "At the beginning of the season, I don't think anyone expected the Twins to be the factor that they are in the Central and, in the bigger picture, in the wild card. But one thing I think about the Minnesota Twins that we've learned over the last five, six or seven seasons is that they are always better than we think they are going to be." |
