Click the play button below to hear Sean's comments, recorded this morning. He discusses the Red Sox' offensive woes in this weekend's sweep by the Angels, poor run support for Tim Wakefield, how the club will use Justin Masterson, and the Manny Ramirez contract saga.

Here are some excerpts from Sean's comments:

Sox offense: "They scored eight runs in the whole series. I think they hit just over .200 for the series, and for the last two games they could manage just two hits in 18 at-bats with runners in scoring position. And as a number of Red Sox players said, you're not going to win many games hitting, or more accurately, not hitting like that."

Masterson: "I think that through a combination of frustration with how others have performed, and a confidence and a willingness to find out what Masterson can do in this new role, might have them putting a fairly big burden on his shoulders early, if for no other reason than they've kind of found out so far that they can't necessarily trust the other guys, so let's find out what he can do."

Ramirez: "At the start of the season I thought it was almost a slam dunk that the Red Sox would pick up at least the first option. With each passing day and week as we get into the season -- I still think it's likely, but it's not nearly the guarantee that it was two weeks ago."
