According to multiple sources, including SI.com and The Boston Globe, Manny Ramirez has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-way deal that will send the Pittsburgh Pirates' Jason Bay to Boston. We'll have more on this story later today from Sean McAdam.

Fox Sports is reporting that the Red Sox have not only sent Ramirez to the Dodgers and agreed to pay all of the salary due to him, but they have also given relief pitcher Craig Hansen and outifielder Brandon Moss to the Pirates, while Pittsburgh also gets two other players, Andy LaRoche and Bryan Morris, from the Dodgers.

good luck Manny... but it was time to move on, you didn't want to be here. Thanks for the 2 titles you helped bring here.

Expensive for Sox, but good riddance...

Is Jason Bay going to be 75% of the bat that Manny was in the line-up? Wouldn't Manny have straightened up after the deadline and then Boston could have simply not picked up his option (without having to deal Moss and Hansen)? What will we say if he's a Yankee next year?

Best trade for the Yankees made in 2008...Ramirez to L.A. who was hitting .400+ and had 50+ HRs against my Yanks. OH and we'll see how good Ortiz REALLY is now. Here comes another 86 years of misery.

Faiaz - Coming from a fan of a team that hasn't won anything in 8 years, that doesn't mean much...never mind the biggest choke of all time on 2004.

Thank Goodness! It was about time that guy left town. I don't know why the Red Sox kept that guy around as long as they did. I'm guessing he had incriminating photos of Theo with Larry, Tom and John involving a gorilla suit or something. I could not wait to see him finally booted out of here. Of course, you know I'm talking about Craig Hansen, right?

Oh, Manny's going to Red Sox West? That's nice. He'll like it there.

Don't let the BAY State hit you in the butt on the way out, Craig (You TOO can be a Red Sox pitcher and not be expected to do anything but secretly help out opposing teams' offense) Hansen.

First Faiaz,No offence but your team hasn't won anything in awhile and don't pull out the 26 championships. That is in the past. Ortiz is that good, remember 2004. The last time I checked the Sox are the current champions. Next the numbers that Manny put up are going to be missed. He may have been a headache but after the trade deadline went by I am sure he would have calmed down. Manny you will be missed. Thanks for everything!

What excuse will you guys have when we win the World Series? Difference between your team and my team is that my team is always there but your team wins one year just to not make the playoffs the next just like they are not gonna make the playoffs this year.

Jim, the biggest choke is 18-1 AHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Faiaz,

You really are an idiot. First of all, you are trying to use future predictions in an attempt to prove that your beloved Yankees are better than THE CURRENT WORLD SERIES CHAMPION Boston Red Sox. You have no idea how the rest of this season will pan out, so don't go saying the Sox won't even make the playoffs this year--they are still ahead of the Yanks in the standings and Jason Bay is not THAT bad. If you want to make predictions, at least try to involve a little bit of inductive reasoning, like maybe the fact that hitters hit better when they have other good hitters in the lineup with them, and Jason Bay hit in a TERRIBLE lineup in Pittsburgh, and his stats still aren't all that bad. Let's see what the Sox can do with (1) Pedroia, (2) Drew, (3) Bay, (4) Ortiz, as a lineup. And finally, football has nothing to do with baseball, buddy.
