The Red Sox just announced they have acquired outfielder Mark Kotsay from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for outfielder Luis Sumoza.
Kotsay, 32, will join the Sox in New York today but will not be in the lineup. The club will need to make roster.
He hit. 289 with six homers and 37 RBI in 81 games for the Braves this season
