NEW YORK -- Here's what we know so far: The Red Sox have purchased the contract of infielder Joe Thurston from Pawtucket and he has been activated. Pitcher Chris Smith was sent back to the PawSox.
Pitcher Bartolo Colon has been moved from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL in order to make room for Thurston on the club's 40-man roster.
Pitcher Tim Wakefield still needs to be activated to pitch tonight, so the Red Sox need to make one more roster move. It's possible J.D. Drew will be placed on the DL.
