Bobby Kielty, who hit the home run that provided what proved to be the game-winning run in Game Four of the 2007 World Series, has signed a minor-league deal with the Minnesota Twins and will report to their Triple-A team in Rochester.

Kielty requested and was given his release from the Red Sox organization on Saturday, July 12. He had spent the entire season at Pawtucket and hit .228 with 3 homers and 18 runs batted in for the PawSox.

Big whoop the guy is made of glass and is always hurt.He is overrated Sox need a stronger bat that can do damage off the bench and start occasionally. They should step up and make deal with Tigers for Gary Sheffield. The guy is motivated to play for the sox for the pennant drive and would make up for Mannys righthanded bat protecting Ortiz in the 4 hole.Mike Lowell is not going to be a productive clean up hitter already cost us a couple of games this past week and he is banged up.
