Coco Crisp's fifth-inning single last night extended his hitting streak to 11 games. In that span, Crisp is hitting .524 (22-for-42). The last time he had a streak of 11 games or more was from Oct. 2, 2005 through June 2, 2006. Previously, he had a 14-game streak from July 27-Aug. 18, 2004...Kevin Youkilis has reached base safely in 43 consecutive games, dating back to July 12. That eclipses Albert Pujols (42 games) for the longest such streak in the majors this season. The last longer streak belongs to Kevin Millar, who got on base 52 straight games with Baltimore from June 21-Aug. 25, 2007...Since coming off the DL, Mike Lowell is 7-for-16 (.438) with four extra-base hits and five RBI in four games. His homer last night was No. 200 of his career and first at Fenway since June 12. His last five homers had come on the road...David Aardsma made a rehab appearance for Lowell of the New York-Penn League last night. He pitched a 1-2-3 fifth inning and recorded two strikeouts. Aardsma is coming back from a groin strain.
