Lowell unavailable; MRIs will be sent to hip specialists

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The torn labrum in his hip that so hobbled Mike Lowell Tuesday night is still hurting, so he's unavailable for Wednesday night's Red Sox-Rays series finale here.

MRIs of Lowell's injury will be sent to hip specialists on Thursday, as the Red Sox attempt to determine the best course of action to deal with the problem.
