Someone recently asked what type of relationship Dustin Pedroia and Terry Francona have.

Well, the two are very close.

They continually joke with each other on and off the field, and they spend hours playing cribbage.

When the Sox were in Texas over the weekend, Francona bought his second baseman a pair of pink cowboy boots as a joke. Pedroia did one better and wore them to the park today. The kickers are mostly pink with some purple and rhinestones.

The boots certainly give new meaning to the old Red Sox saying: "Cowboy Up."
