Click the play button below to hear Sean McAdam's comments, recorded this morning. The topics: Monday night's offensive outburst, Daisuke Matsuzaka picking up his 17th win in unimpressive fashion, the surprising warning issued by last night's home-plate umpire, and the Rays' inability to capture the imagination of the local fans.
Here's what Sean said about last night's game:
"It really was quite an offensive showing, chasing Kazmir in the fourth inning, having him with his shortest outing of his season and certainly one of the most forgettable starts of his career, and it was quite a statement that the Red Sox made here in the first game of the series in Tampa Bay, having lost two games in their final at-bat [against the Rays] back home."
BIG STATEMENT? Little full of ourselves, aren't we? This thing is far from over... nothing was won last night.
