ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- It's become a simple decision for Red Sox manager Terry Francona to leave Coco Crisp in the leadoff spot in the Sox' order for Game Six of the ALCS Saturday night at Tropicana Field.

The speedy outfielder played a key role in Game Five. His RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning scored Mark Kotsay to tie the game at 7-7.

It's completely different from a season ago, when Francona replaced the struggling Crisp with rookie Jacoby Ellsbury, who proved to be a sparkplug for the Red Sox. This October it's been Crisp's play that has been crucial.

"Having Coco at the top gives us the balance we've been looking for," said Francona.

Because Crisp has been able to get on, he's keep the line moving, which the Red Sox desperately needed. Entering Game Six, Crisp is hitting .417 (5-for-12) with one RBI in three games this series.
