ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Red Sox manager Terry Francona and second baseman Dustin Pedroia spend a lot of time together. They play cribbage almost on a daily basis (Pedroia said this afternoon that he spanked Francona recently) and any chance they get to poke fun at each other, they do.

When the Boston beat writers met with Francona Saturday afternoon, there was that famous picture of Eddie Gaedel, the midget sent to bat by Bill Veeck in 1951 when Veeck owned the St. Louis Browns.

A closer look at the picture on Francona's desk was Gaedel's face was transposed with Pedroia. Francona said someone had sent it to him and everyone got a chuckle from it. We don't know if Pedroia has seen it yet.
