BOSTON -- It was long joked that at an average Rays-Sox game in Tampa probably drew more Sox fans than Rays supporters. Much of the time, it was less of a joke and more of a sad truth.
This season, that has finally turned around, but last night, rookie third baseman Evan Longoria still noticed a sizable Red Sox contingent doing their best to drown out the cowbell-toting Rays faithful at Tropicana Field last night.

"It's a little bit different when you play at home and there's 10,000 Red Sox fans. I mean, we had more fans than they did, but you could still feel the presence of the Red Sox fans," he said.

He knows the Rays won't have the same kind of help up in Fenway.

"You won't be able to feel that here. It's going to be hostile and a tough place to play," Longoria said.
