Removing the Yankees from the equation is sure to keep Teixeira's asking price from rising beyond the Red Sox' means. Had the Yankees been determined to land the first baseman, they might have directed the bidding to a level only they can afford. If the Sox do plan on bringing in Teixeira, they will have to make a big trade to make way for him in the starting lineup. Speculation seems to center on the possibility of the Red Sox moving Mike Lowell -- perhaps to Philadelphia, which could use a better hitter than Pedro Feliz at third base and has always coveted Lowell -- and then converting Kevin Youkilis back to a full-time third baseman. Youkilis was just that in the minors, but he became primarily a first baseman in order to replace Kevin Millar in the starting lineup after the 2005 season. CommentsLeave a comment |

Great move bring on Texeira. But before you tradw Lowell, try him or Youk at 2nd base by moving Dustin to ss(where he was all american ss in college0.Try that move during spring training.Do that before you trade anyone. Then again maybe you could use Lowell as DH to spit duty with Papi and you would also a right and left handers as DH.But the best move woul be Lowell at 3rd.and Youk at second, but dont trade lowell if you dont have to.
