SI.com reports that the Red Sox, aware of the need to improve their offense, attempted to trade for Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez -- whom they dealt to Florida in the Josh Beckett/Mike Lowell deal during the 2005-06 offseason -- but the Marlins were lukewarm about surrendering Ramirez and the talks have ended. |
