Report: After losing out on Teixeira, Sox made bid to reacquire Hanley Ramirez

SI.com reports that the Red Sox, aware of the need to improve their offense, attempted to trade for Marlins shortstop Hanley Ramirez -- whom they dealt to Florida in the Josh Beckett/Mike Lowell deal during the 2005-06 offseason -- but the Marlins were lukewarm about surrendering Ramirez and the talks have ended.
