LAS VEGAS -- Now that CC Sabathia is likely heading to the New York Yankees via a seven-year $160-million deal, the rest of the market should begin to pick up.

Red Sox GM Theo Epstein appeared frustrated Tuesday when he met with the Boston media and admitted things were moving slow. It's going to be interesting how the rest of the day progresses.

The Sox have been in communication with free-agent pitcher A.J. Burnett and, reportedly, Mark Teixeira. Epstein said he wasn't optimistic something would get done here at the Bellagio Hotel this week.

That could change now that Sabathia appears to be heading to the Bronx.
