LAS VEGAS _ An official announcement has not been made, but it's only a matter of time before the New York Yankees introduce their new pitcher CC Sabathia.

Former Red Sox and PawSox utility man Joe Thurston is related to Sabathia and he just told the Journal that he is very proud of his cousin.

"First of all, I am very excited and proud of my cousin for all the hard work he has been putting in since Day One," Thurston said. "He has kept a good head on his shoulder through it all, through the rough times. He was always positive and stayed positive, believing things would change soon. He really deserves the best."

As far as Thurston's playing career is concerned, it's likely he'll sign with St. Louis.
