Rocco Baldelli may be in Boston, but he won't forget his time -- or the people -- in the Tampa Bay area. The Rhode Island native, who signed as a free agent with the Red Sox last month, took out a half-page ad in today's St. Petersburg Times to thank Rays fans for their support during his six years with the team. "I will always think of the Tampa Bay Area as my second home," Baldelli wrote in part of the ad, "and I would like to thank everyone for accepting me and for making my time here as enjoyable as it was. I will never forget. Thank you once again." |
