| Red Sox manager 'very happy' with return of Varitek »
SI.com and The Boston Globe are reporting that the Red Sox and catcher Jason Varitek have agreed on a one-year, $5-million contract with player and club options for 2010. If the club does not pick up its $5 million option for 2010, Varitek could still opt to stay with the Sox for $3 million, with the opportunity to earn another $2 million in incentives.
