| Spring Training: Tek's offense not a concern for manager »
By Joe McDonald FORT MYERS, Fla. _ Even though Saturday was the first official day of spring training for the Boston Red Sox, that doesn't mean the club isn't all ready dealing with some injuries. There's nothing serious to report, but while the all rest of the pitching staff threw in some capacity at the Player Development Complex, left-hander Felix Doubront did not. According to manager Terry Francona the southpaw is bothered by a sore back. Doubront, who pitched for Single-A Lancaster and Greenville last season, will be held back the next couple of days. Veteran Tim Wakefield slipped on the mound during his first bullpen session the other day and tweaked his backside was able to throw Saturday. |
