As if anyone needed a reminder, Mike Lowell will take his first at-bats of camp today, serving as the designated hitter against the Baltimore Orioles. Lowell is expected to bat twice as he continues to improve following surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip.
Assuming all goes well, Lowell will play third base at home against the Yankees on Friday, and then travel to play the Orioles in Ft. Lauderdale on Monday.
