The contingent of rehabbing Red Sox will travel with the team to Boston, and then some will return to Florida, while others will join the team on the west coast trip beginning April 10.

Julio Lugo, working through a torn meniscus in his right knee, will travel with the team to New York and Boston, and then return to Florida when he's ready to begin baseball activities, manager Terry Francona said. He is expected back by mid-April.

Mark Kotsay will leave Florida with the team and join the Sox for their west coast road trip, and then return to Florida to continue his rehab. He is expected back May 1.

John Smoltz threw 46 pitches in a bullpen session this morning, and reportedly felt good. He will throw again Friday. He will also join the team for the west coast trip, and will then return to Florida, when he will be expected to begin throwing live batting practice.
