ESPN Deportes is reporting that Alex Rodriguez will have surgery to remove a cyst from his hip, and that he will be out 10 weeks. The source of the report is Rodriguez's brother, Joe. The report says that the surgery will take place Monday in Colorado.

If true, the report means that Rodriguez will not play for the Yankees until mid-May. He will also, of course, miss the World Baseball Classic, in which he was supposed to play for the Dominican Republic. We'll have more on this story as it is known.
