BOSTON (AP) - The Boston Pops Orchestra is celebrating the release of its new album on the Boston Red Sox Opening Day. As part of the celebrations for "The Red Sox Album," conductor Keith Lockhart and members of the orchestra will be featured in a performance during festivities on Monday when the Red Sox open the 2009 season against the Tampa Bay Rays. The recording, which is on sale for $12.99 at the Pops' web site, features the Boston Pops Orchestra along with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus in new arrangements of Fenway Park's traditional fan anthem "Sweet Caroline" and the baseball classic "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." It also features a new arrangement of the Dropkick Murphys' "I'm Shippin' Up to Boston," among other selections. CommentsLeave a comment |
