Mark Kotsay (back) and John Smoltz (shoulder) will travel to the west coast with the rest of the club on Thursday to continue their rehab, but Julio Lugo will return to Fort Myers. The Sox' shortstop will workout at the spring training complex for approximately a week before he is evaluated.

When his knee is deemed healthy, Lugo will play in a minor-league game (TBD). In the meantime, he's been able to hit in the cage and has been working on his strength.
