Vaughn wants Ra Shonda Kay Marshall, of the Columbus suburb of Powell, to return the money he says was taken. His suit also seeks more than $5 million in punitive damages.

The federal lawsuit was filed in February in Columbus.

Marshall filed a counterclaim this week denying the allegations and accusing Vaughn of damaging her reputation.

The ex-ball player owned an off-season home in a Columbus suburb and worked with a local real estate company. He played 12 years in the majors and won the AL MVP award in 1995.
