| Ortiz on lineup: 'He's the boss, I'm an employee' »
Rocco Baldelli left today's game in the ninth inning after reporting a sore hamstring, but he could have played through it, he said, and his manager said he was pulled largely because a right-hander was anticipated on the mound for the Twins. "I watched him run down to first and it seemed like he had kind of an interesting gait going. He said he felt it, but he was okay," manager Terry Francona said. The coaches checked in with Baldelli after he singled in the eighth inning, but Baldelli said he was healthy enough to play. The nagging hamstring injury has bothered him all season. "My hamstring was a little tight, but it wasn't something I was going to come out of the game for. I said I was okay," he said. "It was just something where it was tight throughout the game, but it wasn't much of a big deal." Baldelli was replaced by JD Drew. |
