Dennis Eckersley, one of Jerry Remy's fill-ins as analyst on NESN's Red Sox television broadcasts, has a reputation for speaking, ah, colorfully.

On Friday night, he lived up to it. On the air.

While describing a replay of Kevin Youkilis' painful reaction after being hit in the elbow by a Johan Santana pitch, he tried to guess what Youkilis was saying.

He guessed that Youkilis said "Crap!" Only he used another four-letter word, a less polite one, that means the same thing.

After Eckersley said it, there was a moment of silence. Then he said, "Never mind. We'll just forget about that."

Yep...then in the top of the 8th, he called Masterson 'masterbate''. Think we have seen the last of Eck? Other than his overuse of 'paint'...I enjoy his style and blunt commentary
