PAWTUCKET - Kei Igawa's long, frustrating climb towards the major leagues took a positive step Sunday night at McCoy Stadium. Igawa limited the Pawtucket Red Sox to three runs over six innings and led the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees to a 10-4 win before 8,478 fans. The defending Governor's Cup champion Yankees took three of four games in their weekend series in Pawtucket. Igawa improved to 5-0 against Pawtucket in his third year in Triple A. The Sox took an early 3-0 lead in the second inning on three hits and two walks. Igawa walked in the second run and the third scored on a double play grounder. But that would be it for the home team as Igawa shut the Sox out over the next four innings and left with an 8-3 lead. |
