Clay Buchholz was outstanding once again, but his pitching was not enough to prevent a Pawtucket Red Sox loss Wednesday. Buchholz went eight innings, allowed four hits and no walks and struck out 11. He threw 93 pitches, 71 for strikes to lower his earned run average to 1.03. Toledo starter Eddie Bonine was just as good, going nine innings and allowing only one hit, a ground single to center by Dusty Brown in the second. |
