Outfielder Josh Reddick, the Boston system's fourth-ranked prospect, will likely go to Boston Monday to get a cortisone shot on his strained left oblique, and should then report to the team's complex in Ft. Myers, FL for extended rehab.
Reddick, who already had six home runs at Double-A Portland, has been in Pawtucket the last few days rehabbing.
He injured the muscle Wednesday on a full swing. He reportedly has a grade two oblique strain, which can mean a recovery period of at least several weeks.
