BOSTON _ On the shoulders of a strong pitching performance from starter Jon Lester, the Red Sox pounded the Rangers into submission Saturday night at Fenway Park, 8-1.
Boston's southpaw tossed a complete game and allowed only two hits with 11 strikeouts en route to victory. Lester had a no-hitter working into the top of the seventh inning before the Rangers' Michael Young doubled to left-center field.
David Ortiz hit his second home run of the season in the sixth inning.
