Irish tenor Tynan loses Yankees' gig over anti-Semitic 'joke'

Ronan Tynan won't be belting out "God Bless America'' during the seventh-inning stretch of tonight's Yanks-Angels playoff game at Yankee Stadium.

It seems the Irish tenor made an anti-Semitic "joke'' to a Jewish doctor who was looking at an apartment in Tynan's building.

When the news got out, the Yankees canceled tonight's scheduled appearance. And now Tynan is backpedaling as fast as his prosthetic legs will carry him.

Said Tynan: "I'm not anti-Semitic. A lot of my friends are Jewish. . . . I was too stupid with my mouth.''

“Anyone who watches this film will not fail to be deeply moved by the incredible imagery captured by Yann Arthus-Bertrand. It is a truly remarkable call to action for all us to play a part in protecting the planet for the generations to come.”

What's with the "backpedaling as fast as his prosthetic legs will carry him" comment. Seems a little "harsh" for a news story about an insensitive and/or "joke". Two wrongs make a right?!?!?!?!?
