The cold won't be an issue in Los Angeles, where the forecast on Friday afternoon is for a high of 83 degrees. And manager Charlie Manuel has decided that Martinez will be his starter for Game Two of the National League Championship Series, which is scheduled for 4 o'clock that day. Martinez was a modest success since joining the Phillies in mid-August. He went 5-1 with a 3.63 ERA in nine starts. Rust could be a big problem, though, as Martinez has pitched exactly seven innings in the last month. Still, Red Sox fans might get a kick out of seeing Martinez face Manny Ramirez, who is planted firmly in the middle of the Dodgers' lineup. |
