| Baldelli suffering from strained left hip flexor »
By KEVIN McNAMARA BOSTON - The ALDS logo is freshly painted behind home plate here at Fenway Park, duffel bags are being packed in the clubhouse and the Red Sox are on their way out of town. That, in a nutshell, is where the Red Sox stand right now. The team is holding an optional workout at the park and a smattering of players are taking their cuts in the cage and playing long toss in right field. Jason Bay, Dustin Pedroia, Casey Kotchman, George Kottaras and Brian Anderson look like the only players who'll be taking cuts in the cage. There is no news on the health status of Rocco Baldelli. The team's fourth outfielder all season, Baldelli strained his hip flexor on Friday night and hasn't been seen much since. He was supposed to take an MRI this morning but the Red Sox are not commenting on the results or much else today. Terry Francona was not made available to the media and as one player said, ``why is the media here today? We don't play until Thursday." UPDATE: 1:32 p.m. |
