Shortstop Jed Lowrie -- who has been sidelined for several days after doctors noted an accelerated heartbeat -- passed his stress test this morning, and should resume baseball activities soon.

"He came through everything fine," Francona said. "Some of the bloodwork I'm sure won't come back for a while, it takes a little while to do that. But he's cleared to resume some activity. Hopefully what happens is he was just sick, and didn't tolerate it real well. I don't think you can be too careful. I understand why the doctors wanted to do what they did."

He's not scheduled to make either of Boston's road trips tomorrow.
