no, not a slump. 2004 was a fluke. as true sox fans we all really know what will happen, don't we. one more month and the yanks will be 2 games ahead of us. all will be right in the world.

franco does not have a feel for handling pitchers
leaves them in too long. after 3-5 innings he and catcher should have a feel if pitcher is on. bet
ERA figure for that period is high.

I think Alan has it right we are in the second half of the season after all. One would think I'd have changed "my team" to the Twins as I have now lived in MN more years than I did in RI, but...

Please - when is this love affair with Manny going to end? He's a good hitter, but that's his only dimension as a player. He cost the Sox a run in the 1-0 loss to Cleveland by not being by home plate when Crisp tried to score from second base. Crisp slowed up half way to home plate. If Manny had been at home indicating a play at the plate, he wouldn't have had to look, and probably would have scored. Manny's head "is not in the game", nor his heart, I fear.
